Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 25, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how lynnmmatson.com (the “Site”) uses cookies and similar technologies. We believe in transparency about how your data is handled — even when the answer is “we barely use any.”

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the site owner. Cookies can be “first-party” (set by the site you're visiting) or “third-party” (set by an external service).

Cookies We Use

We use a minimal number of cookies. Here is a complete inventory:

Cookie NameTypePurposeDurationParty
bva_admin_sessionStrictly NecessaryAuthenticates administrators for the Business Vitals Assessment management area. This cookie is only set when an administrator logs in. Regular site visitors never receive this cookie.7 daysFirst-party

Third-Party Scripts

The Vital Signs Quiz results page loads a script from Bento (bentonow.com), our email marketing platform. This script may set cookies or use local storage to support form tracking and email delivery. It is loaded only on pages where you have completed the quiz and opted in to receive your results report.

Bento's privacy policy is available at bentonow.com/privacy.

Cookies We Do Not Use

For clarity, we do not use:

  • Analytics cookies — No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or similar services
  • Advertising or tracking cookies — No Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar
  • Social media cookies — No embedded social media widgets that set cookies

Session Storage

When you complete the Vital Signs Quiz, your results are temporarily stored in your browser's session storage so you can view them on the results page. Session storage is cleared automatically when you close your browser tab. It is not a cookie and is not transmitted to our servers.

Do We Need a Cookie Consent Banner?

Our first-party administrative cookie is strictly necessary and never set for regular visitors, so it does not require consent. The Bento script on the quiz results page is loaded only after you voluntarily submit your email address to receive your results report. Your consent to receive that report serves as the basis for loading the script at that point in the user journey.

If we add non-essential cookies to general browsing pages in the future (such as analytics), we will implement a cookie consent mechanism before those cookies are deployed.

How to Control Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored on your device
  • Delete individual or all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific or all sites
  • Set preferences for first-party vs. third-party cookies

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the Site (specifically, the admin area).

Changes to This Policy

If we begin using additional cookies or similar technologies, we will update this policy and, where required, implement appropriate consent mechanisms before deploying them.
