The Bridge Between Chaos and Calm
I know what “good systems” look like. But I also know that the real reason your business is chaotic isn't because you don't know what to do.

Lynn M. Matson
I spent 20+ years as a controller for multi-million dollar companies. I know what “good systems” look like. But I also know that the real reason your business is chaotic isn't because you don't know what to do—it's because something is stopping you from doing it.
I bridge the gap between the messy human reality and the clean digital future. I help successful small business owners stop being the bottleneck by addressing both the psychology and the systems that keep them stuck.
Most consultants hand you a software recommendation and wish you luck. I stay with you through the hardest part: actually changing how your business operates.
Not just systems. Psychology.
Most consultants ask, “What software do you need?” I ask, “What are you afraid will happen if you change this?”
The real barriers aren't technical—they're human. Fear of delegation. Identity wrapped in being “the one who does everything.” And the guilt of stepping back from a business you built with your bare hands.
My Story
From Corporate Controller to Holistic Operational Architect
I spent two decades as a financial controller, managing multi-million dollar budgets and building systems for companies that actually worked. I got really good at looking at a business and seeing exactly where it was bleeding time and money.
But I kept noticing something the spreadsheets couldn't explain.
Business owners—smart, capable people who'd built something real—were stuck. Not because they didn't have access to better tools or couldn't afford consultants. They were stuck because something deeper was going on. The founder who couldn't delegate because their identity was wrapped up in doing everything. The owner who knew their processes were broken but couldn't face the disruption of fixing them. The entrepreneur running a million-dollar company on tribal knowledge and sheer willpower.
The numbers were never the real problem.
That realization changed my career. I stopped being the person who just fixed the books and started being the person who figured out why the books were broken in the first place. And the answer was almost always human—not technical.
Today, I work with successful small business owners who've built something worth protecting but can't sustain the way they're running it. I especially love working with founders who've poured everything into their business and are finally ready to build something that works without them in every seat.
I bring the rigor of a controller, the curiosity of a strategist, and the patience of someone who knows that real change takes more than a new software subscription.
I don't do cookie-cutter. I don't do templates. I design systems around how you think—not how a software company thinks you should think.

What Clients Say
Small business has many challenges, one of which is being competent at all aspects of your business – not always an easy task. Lynn has been a great asset to our business as a twice yearly financial management consultant since 2002, assisting us with organizational and financial matters. The experience Lynn brings to our business is invaluable. She helps with year end requirements then uses the information to develop a plan for the following year. We feel confident and comfortable with her professional leadership. Her insight is useful in identifying strengths within our business so we can implement changes where necessary and move forward with confidence.
I met Lynn on a volunteer board we both were directors on. Lynn quickly assumed a leadership position through her actions. Lynn was quick to volunteer to tackle issues. Her focus and bottom line approach to the issues lead to strong action plans, which were implemented and followed to conclusion. These skills which were demonstrated in a volunteer environment naturally follow through to Lynn’s career. I have also had the pleasure of working with Lynn in the corporate world, and have no hesitation in recommending her. Her vision and ability to get to the issues at hand are skills which shine through in everything she does.
Lynn is like a commando in the world of business, organization, strategy and deployment. She has a gift for being able to quickly assess a company’s position, to make recommendations in discussion with management and, if needed, to effect the changes needed. She has experience in accounting, technology, human resources, management and organizational structure, a very helpful combination of skills.
Lynn came highly recommended to assist Williams Direct Dryers when we changed our accounting package to AccountEdge. We were so impressed that we have continued to use Lynn as a controller and consultant. We were impressed with not only her knowledge of AccountEdge, but also her approach to our business. She has helped us develop and implement a plan that enables us to manage our business in a more effective manner. Some of the differences we found between her and other companies are; she is genuinely interested in helping us succeed, she listens to our needs/requirements and is able to explain things in an easy to understand manner.
